Share the Sound began as the brainchild of two longtime friends, Matt Stevens and Matt Davidson, who realized as they downed a pitcher of beer that there was always some new song that one had discovered and decided the other absolutely had to hear. He would then proceed to tell the other, "Have you heard the new song by [insert artist name]? No? You should." The other person would then forget the name of the song, and that great song would go unheard. If only there were a place where we could put the songs we wanted to show other people….

At Share the Sound, we take a different approach to talking about music. We believe that word-of-mouth is a good way to discover new music, but it can be improved upon.
